She has been discharged today (9-June-2010)

Sundari, wife of Arul Jyothi gave birth to a girl child on 22/May/2010 in a government healthcare in Ponnur Village. However the child was not delivered despite breaking of water bag. She was transported to Vandavasi Government Hospital and from there moved to Chengalpet Government Hospital. It was in this hospital Sundari delivered a beautiful girl child approximately 4 hours after water breaking. The baby soon developed breathing problem and had to be put under ventilation support. Since Chengalpet Hospital did not have the necessary support system, Sundari was once again moved to Child Trust Hospital, Chennai. Upon arriving at the hospital the baby has been put under ventilator support and been appropriately treated. Her condition has stabilized. The medical support so far provided has come to more than Rs. 63,000/- Baby is expected to be under the treatment for another two weeks. The cost is expected to amount to Rs. 2,00,000. Arul Jyothi is a weaver and earns about Rs.2000 per month. This amount is barely enough to meet the needs of his 4 member family (2 children + his wife). Baby has been discharged. The total bill amount comes up to Rs. 123,489 (Rs. 91,191 Hospitalization charges + Rs. 32,298.50 medical charges). Child Trust Hospital had kindly agreed to provide a discount of 50% on the hospitalization charges. Therefore the total fund requirement has come up to Rs. 77,894. Thanks to all of you, funds have been raised to pay the bill
