the baby suffered breathing difficulty immediately after birth because aspiration of the motion of the baby into the lungs just after the birth leading to persistant pulmonary hypertension.Baby fought the entire struggle and finally got dischaged.

Baby of Porkodi had breathing difficulty immediately after birth, admitted in Chengalpet neonatal intensive care unit, needed ventilatory support and further management and was referred, transported and shifted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Sooriya hospital on 07.06.10 in a very critical condition.The baby was immediately admitted and managed for TERM/SGA/RESPIRATORY DISTRESS- MECONIUM ASPIRATION SYNDROME-PERSISTENT PULMONARY HYPERTENSION- Baby received ventilatory support,intropes,IV fluids,IV antibiotics,sedation and intensive care so far . Baby will need to stay for 18-20 days in the hospital and the estimated expenses are approximately Rs.120000.Mr.Kannan, husband of Mrs.Porkodi is an agricultural labourer, earns Rs 2000 per months unable to pay the hospital & pharmacy bills. Baby got discharged.
